Space City Institute of Houston, Inc. (SCIH) is the umbrella to the Music Business Technology Center. They represent an emerging community-based nonprofit organization founded on faith-based principles. MBTC's focus is to reach the naturally gifted and talented who may otherwise go unnoticed or become captured in the snares of trouble and uncertainty in life and to provide a state of the art music experience while building self esteem and purpose in the lives of young people. Our goal is to utilize all aspects of the arts as a vehicle to reach youth ages 9-18. Music is the chosen avenue enabling us to reach, involve and impact youth and parents allowing them the opportunity to choose positive alternatives in day to day life situations.
Our mission is to advance the value of life for youth and parents, to educate, support growth and development of family and community while providing creative professional resources.
Through SCIH, MBTC advances character development in youth through its career and technology systems. These systems are strategically designed to target creative essentials that will enhance the well being of youth as they prepare for careers and management opportunities in the music industry. Our core values of leadership and moral integrity-are rooted in our unwavering commitment found in every area of our networking systems.
The Business Education for the Arts & Music [B.E.A.M.] is a core function of MBTC. Please visit the B.E.A.M. icon for more information. As well, the Curriculum icon (still under construction) will provide a more in depth description of program opportunities.
